Knaresborough
Nidd Gorge sits immediately upriver of the town, ancient woodland beneath sandstone walls, and plenty of Knaresborough gardens share that character: steep, wooded and awkward to get equipment into. Tree work and hedge reduction over a drop is most of what we are called for here.

Killinghall
Killinghall keeps growing, and new build gardens arrive with compacted subsoil and thin topsoil. Turfing, soil improvement, boundary planting and planting up a new build garden from scratch are usually the first jobs here.

Ripon
Newby Hall's double herbaceous border runs 172 metres down towards the River Ure, one of the longest in the country, and it sets a fair benchmark for what a Ripon garden can be. We cover the city and the villages around it for maintenance, borders and tree work.

Boroughbridge
The town grew up around a new crossing of the River Ure, and the low ground beside the river still decides what will grow. Drainage, wet lawns and plant choice for ground that sits damp are the questions we get here. Aldborough, Minskip and Roecliffe are covered too.

Wetherby
Wetherby and the villages on the Wharfe side, out to Boston Spa, Bramham and Collingham. Tree surgery, hedges, planting and full garden projects are what we come out here for, for homes, pubs and commercial grounds.

Nidderdale
Up the dale, where we started.
Three pages covering Nidderdale itself, from Hampsthwaite and Birstwith on the Nidd, up through Summerbridge to Pateley Bridge and the top of the dale. This is the most local work we do, right on our own doorstep.

Summerbridge and Dacre Banks
Summerbridge, Dacre Banks and Darley sit together up the dale, and it is a road we are on most weeks. The Nidderdale Way runs along the Nidd through the village. Being on that run regularly means a fortnightly visit is a short job rather than a travel conversation.

Upper Nidderdale
Pateley Bridge and Upper Nidderdale
Pateley Bridge is the only town in Nidderdale, and everything above it gets steeper, wetter and windier. Gardens up here need planting that will take exposure and hedges that hold a shape in the weather. Glasshouses is covered from the same round, and Bewerley has a page of its own.

Half a mile south of Pateley Bridge and a different job from the town it looks across at: sloping plots, real exposure off Greenhow, dry stone boundaries and mature estate trees around the old Fountains Abbey grange.

Nidd valley
Hampsthwaite and Birstwith
Two Nidd valley villages that were one ancient parish until Birstwith became a separate civil parish in 1866. The gardens here run down towards the river, which is why lawn care and pond work make up most of what we do in both.

Nidderdale
From Great Whernside and the reservoirs at the head, down through Middlesmoor, Ramsgill and Pateley Bridge to Birstwith and the Nidd Gorge. Thirty miles, several different growing seasons, and where Hocus Crocus started.

An honest word about travel
Pateley Bridge and Wetherby are the furthest points on the list. Tree work, hedge reduction and larger projects carry that distance comfortably, and they are most of what we are called out to at the edge of the patch. A short fortnightly mow right out there is a different conversation, and we would rather have it with you on the phone than surprise you with it on an invoice.
Leeds, Bradford, York, Skipton and Thirsk are outside the area we cover. Wetherby is the far edge of the patch rather than outside it, and it has a page of its own. Ripley, Burnt Yates, Markington and Bishop Thornton are covered but do not have their own pages yet. If you are just past the edge of the list, ring 07816 779 064 and ask, because for a bigger job or tree work we will usually still come and look.
